Beijing and Zhangjiakou host Winter Sports Festival for the Disabled

The first “China Winter Sports Festival for the Disabled” was commenced in Beijing and Zhangjiakou on December 3, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event will last through to February 2017.

The event aims to help people discover the winter Paralympics, which is reflected in the theme of “enjoy integrated winter sports, live happily in good health”.

Exhibitions on Paralympics events, winter sports rehabilitation projects and sports devices for the disabled are also included in the event. During the festival, exhibition of winter sports rehabilitation projects for the disabled will also be held in Tianjin, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangdong, Sichuan, Xinjiang and other provinces.

The event is organized by China Disabled Persons’ Federation (CDPF). Wang Meimei, vice chairwoman of CDPF, attended the launching ceremony of the event in Beijing’s Yanqing district.
