Lei Lina: Torch Bearer at Rio Paralympics
On the morning of September 6, Rio local time, Lei Lina, a female ping-pong athlete from China at the Rio Paralympics, participated in the Games’ torch transfer as the torch bearer. She was chosen as the torch bearer through a recommendation of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics committee, showing the attention and support paid by the International Paralympics Committee to China and the 2022 Winter Paralympics.
Born in 1988, Lei Lina was enrolled in the National Disabled Ping-pong Team in 2001, bringing a strong will and high ability. She was the female TT6-10 group champion and the TT9 singles runner-up at the Athens Paralympics, and the TT6-10 group champion and TT9 singles runner-up at both the 2008 and 2012 Paralympics. In Rio, she will compete in TT9 singles and TT6-10 group events.
