The games, held shortly before the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, fully reflect the Chinese government’s attention to people with disabilities.

They also demonstrate the achievements made in career development and sports by people with disabilities since the founding of the PRC and showcase the spirit of self-improvement of people with disabilities in the new era. The games inject new impetus into realizing the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects by 2020.

Under the leadership of Rashed, the Asian Paralympic Games have achieved new developments and progress, and their influence in the International Paralympic Games has been increasing, which has promoted unity within the Asian Paralympic family, said Zhang.

Now that the Asian Paralympic Games have officially entered "Hangzhou time", China will strengthen cooperation with the Asian Paralympic Committee and work together for the organization of a wonderful and successful Asian Paralympic Games in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, said Zhang.

Rashed sincerely wished for the success of the games.

He said that China played an important role in the development of the Asian Paralympic Games and was a pioneer of the Paralympic Games in Asia and the world, and that he has always believed that the Paralympic Games in China would make greater achievements.

The Asian Paralympic Committee is willing to work more closely with China in the development of the Paralympic Games, he added.
